Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse women's basketball assistant coach Tammi Reiss gathered the Orange players around her after practice Wednesday morning and asked that they scour their souls with a simple question.
Reiss told the players to ask themselves whether they had "brought it'' in a 75-66 upset loss to Georgia Tech on Sunday.
Besides the final score, the fact that Reiss was even posing the question meant that the correct response was no, and that Syracuse had lacked the proper effort both collectively and as individuals.
"We didn't play with the kind of intensity and the level that we normally play with,'' said head coach Quentin Hillsman.
