Syracuse women's basketball star torches Georgia Tech: 'I did feel like they couldn't really guard me'

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse women's basketball coach Quentin Hillsman has recently implored playmaking point guard Tiana Mangakahia to shoot more as opposing defenses drop off her.

Mangakahia's response on Thursday night exceeded what even Hillsman could have imagined.

Mangakahia shredded Georgia Tech for 44 points to carry the Orange to an 88-77 win at the Carrier Dome. That points total is one shy of the school mark (men's or women's) set by Alexis Peterson against North Carolina State last year.

The sophomore was unstoppable capitalizing on defensive switches and rolling to the baske, bouncing off bodies and the floor along the way.
