Syracuse women's basketball star a finalist for national award

Syracuse, N.Y. --Syracuse University sophomore point guard Tiana Mangakahia is one of 10 finalists for the 2018 Nancy Lieberman Award.

The award recognizes the top point guard in NCAA Division I women's college basketball.

Mangakahia currently paces the Orange in 14 statistical categories including points per game (17.6), assists (221) and steals (54). The national leader in assists and assists per game (10.0), Mangakahia has tallied an Atlantic Coast Conference-high 10 double-doubles this season.

She ranks in the top-30 nationally in assists (first), assists per game (first), double doubles (eighteenth), free throws made (seventeenth) and free throw percentage (26th).
