Syracuse, N.Y. -- The Syracuse women's basketball team set a program record with 16 three-pointers in crushing Maryland Eastern Shore 96-51 on Wednesday in the Carrier Dome.
Miranda Drummond and Digna Strautmane each canned five threes for Syracuse, which was 16-41 from that range overall. The previous three-point mark was 15, reached three times.
No. 15 Syracuse improves to 8-2 while the Hawks fell to 2-6.
Strautmane paced SU in scoring with 17 points, followed by Drummond with 15 and Maeva Djaldi-Tabdi, Tiana Mangakahia and Amaya Finklea-Guity with 14 apiece.
SU trailed 24-21 after the first quarter but put the game away with a 31-7 avalanche in the second.
