Syracuse, N.Y. -- The once promising career of guard Desiree Elmore at Syracuse University is over.
Elmore has been granted her request to transfer, a school spokesperson confirmed on Monday night. Neither Elmore nor Orange coach Quentin Hillsman could be reached for comment on the matter.
Elmore joined SU as a five-star recruit out of Connecticut two seasons ago and had a rough freshman year in which she averaged 2.3 points per game in 24 contests. Coaches and teammates raved about her off-season conditioning improvement and expected more production last season, but she suffered an undisclosed injury in the preseason and wound up missing the entire year.
