Syracuse, N.Y. -- Newcomers Emily Engstler and Kiara Lewis led the way with 13 points apiece as the No. 18 Syracuse University women's basketball team ripped North Dakota 85-49 in its season opener Tuesday afternoon in the Carrier Dome.
Tiana Mangakahia and Miranda Drummond added 11 apiece for the Orange. Engstler added three rebounds, two blocks, a steal and an assist.
Lewis and Engstler each drilled three three-pointers for SU, which was 12-32 from behind the arc.
After the game was tied 18-18 after one, SU blew the game open with a 23-12 run in the second quarter to control the game 41-30 at the half.
