Syracuse women's basketball newcomer patiently fits into offense

Syracuse, N.Y. -- From the Land Down Under to the basketball courts of Syracuse, the mandate for Orange freshman guard Emily Engstler is the same: shoot more.

She hears the advice. It is tempting, for sure. And at 6-foot-1, Engstler is a matchup nightmare for most players.

But Engstler earned status as a five-star recruit out of New York City and a promising college newcomer by listening to her voice and those of her coaches.

So at the moment she'll continue to pick up the college game at her own pace, one that centers around making her teammates better by looking to pass first.
