Syracuse women's basketball has best backcourt in the country? We'll see, UConn says

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse's Alexis Peterson and Brittney Sykes have spent much of this season proclaiming themselves as the best guard combination in women's college basketball.

Part of that is a mix of personality and confidence. The cheery players like to laugh and support each other, quite often speaking with one mind when it comes to basketball.

Another part of that is fact-based. Both Peterson (23 points, seven assists per game) and Sykes (19 points, eight rebounds) are on the short list for many of the sport's most prestigious national awards. Each is capable of taking over a game on their own.
