A long offseason wait proved to be worth it after the Syracuse Orange women’s basketball team unofficially kicked off its 2023-2024 campaign Tuesday evening with a 77-53 exhibition win over the College of Saint Rose Golden Knights.
The new-look Orange dominated from the start and never looked back, and the home victory shined a light on what looks like a promising second year for coach Felisha Legette-Jack and the program.
Syracuse went up 28-11 by the end of the first quarter and stole the game in dominant fashion — with the Orange shooting a combined 12/16 from the field as a team while holding the Golden Knights to a 5/20 performance on offense in the game’s first 10 minutes.
