The No. 20 Syracuse Orange women’s basketball team has put their troubles behind them for now as they wrapped up the home non-conference slate with a 109-60 decimation of the Niagara Purple Eagles.
It was the rare night when Alexis Peterson wasn’t the leading scorer or close to it. Brittney Sykes led the way with 23 points, also grabbing 13 rebounds and dishing eight assists. Briana Day scored 19 points and Peterson added 13 in the rout.
Like the Coppin State game, this one was a cakewalk from the beginning. SU led 32-8 after the first quarter and took a 62-19 lead into the locker room at the half.
