Syracuse senior and West Genesee product Dylan Donahue was selected No. 2 overall during the Major League Lacrosse Draft on Friday by the Charlotte Hounds.
It's the highest a Syracuse player has been selected since 2011, when Joel White was selected No. 2 by Rochester. Donahue is the son of Syracuse assistant coach Kevin Donahue and is expected to be the leading scorer for the Orange this year as a senior.
Donahue was joined in the first-round by teammate Brandon Mullins, who was selected with the ninth and final pick of the first round by the Boston Cannons.
