Basically because Eric Dungey didn't throw the ball away on 3rd down and instead took a sack, making it a ridiculous distance for a field goal. And then Virginia marches down for a TD to end it. ROUGH. Virginia won in 3 OT, 44 (ooh!) to 38. Get to the grades quickly.
