The Syracuse Orange track and field teams kicked off the 2019 outdoor track season with a bang over the weekend. Out at the Stanford Invitational on Friday evening we saw both 10k school records fall. First it was Paige Stoner dropping over 20 seconds off Margo Malone’s school record as she ran 32:07.36 to finish 4th overall. Stoner was right behind Boise State Broncos star Allie Ostrander for the top collegiate spot. Ostrander is the defending NCAA Champion in the steeplechase and this performance shows that Stoner has to be considered among the top distance runners in the country.
