Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse runner Justyn Knight, who won an individual title in men's cross-country running this Fall, has been named to the watch list for the Bowerman Award, the most prestigious award in college running.
The Bowerman Award is given out annually to the country's top track and field athlete. Knight is one of 10 athletes named to the men's watch list and the only distance runner.
The award is named for legendary Oregon coach Bill Bowerman, the co-founder of Nike. The award attempts to honor the best college athlete in the country in track and field, taking into account both running and throwing events.
