Syracuse pushes to translate women's basketball success into better attendance

Syracuse, N.Y. — Anthony Di Fino joined Syracuse University as associate athletics director for business development in March and within a few weeks the Orange women's basketball team gave him the best welcome present possible.

Head coach Quentin Hillsman and his players elevated the program with the high-voltage excitement of their first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament championship game. That run began with a pair of entertaining wins in the opening rounds in the Carrier Dome.

Di Fino knows a great advertisement when he sees one. At virtually the same time as SU's postseason magic, he convinced the school to put on sale 2016-17 season tickets for the team.
