As FeloniousPhunk discussed last year, Dungey’s potential to play a Taysom Hill role was one of the reasons the Giants wanted him in their camp.
“I talked to Coach Shurmur and he was just talking to me about that [split] position,” Dungey, 22, told the Daily News before his second practice. “Originally it was tight end, which obviously I didn’t want to just play tight end. But he kind of talked to me and just saying we want you as more of an athlete.
