Syracuse men's lacrosse to make appearance in new ESPN documentary

Syracuse, N.Y. -- The Syracuse men's lacrosse team will make an appearance in a new ESPN documentary about a North Carolina high school program made largely from at-risk students.

The ESPN film "Crossroads" will appear on ESPN at 9 p.m. Thursday. The film tells the story of a start-up program at Charlotte Secondary school that advanced to the state finals in just its third year, tackling issues of childhood trauma and poverty.

The film was directed by Ron Yassen and executive produced by Houston Rockets star Chris Paul. The school's athletic director Teddy Walker used the sport to get the school's players to consider the world outside Charlotte and develop college aspirations.
