Syracuse, N.Y. -- The shadow of lacrosse greatness hovered above the Syracuse lacrosse team on Saturday.
Video boards in the Carrier Dome showed highlights of the 1998 and 2008 Orange title squads, which were honored at halftime of Syracuse's game against Johns Hopkins.
The Blue Jays are college lacrosse's most successful program and perhaps SU's most storied rival. As such, Hopkins came into the Dome with a great sense of history but no need to dwell on it now.
The Blue Jays were too busy highlighting just how much work this year's Syracuse team has to do to create its own brand of success.
