The coaches love us! Welcome to the top five! The Syracuse Orange, and most of the ACC, got more love in the USILA/Nike Preseason Coaches’ Poll than the previously released Inside Lacrosse preseason rankings. IL had SU seventh in its poll while the coaches (or their interns) moved the Orange up to number five. Nevertheless, number five through seven are only separated by a mere 14 points, so don’t read too much into this.
There are some striking differences between the two polls such as Ohio State 17/NR, Richmond NR/15, and Johns Hopkins T8/12. In the end though, these are just preseason polls, so ya know, they’re really more for our entertainment than anything else.
