PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Facing a familiar foe, the Syracuse men's lacrosse team earned an unfamiliar result.
The Orange suffered a 14-10 loss at the hands of Rutgers -- a team it played every season from 1979-2012 as members of the Big East -- on Sunday afternoon, falling to the Scarlet Knights for just the ninth time in their 49th all-time meeting. Syracuse falls to 3-3 with their first loss away from the Carrier Dome this season.
An uncharacteristically sloppy game ultimately doomed Syracuse, which entered New Jersey ranking ninth in the nation with just 11.2 turnovers per game.
