Do the North Carolina Tar Heels belong in the top 20? No. Yet, there’s not a lot of consistent quality out there right now so here we are. There are two teams in two of the polls that were not ranked last week and made their first appearance inside that poll’s top 15, that is how bad this field has been week in and week out. Remember, the Syracuse Orange got s-m-o-k-e-d three times this year (yes, Rutgers was a smoking), and is in everyone’s top ten. Sure, beating Duke goes a long way, but this team has lost three games by a combined score of 20-47.
