Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse lacrosse will get a boost offensively with the addition of UMass transfer Nick Mariano.
The rising junior who tallied 81 points (51 goals, 30 assists) in his first two seasons with UMass will join the Orange, according to multiple reports.
Mariano will have two years of eligibility remaining.
A Yorktown, N.Y. native, Mariano was a high school teammate of current Orange defensive midfielder Austin Fusco.
Syracuse, which saw its season end in an NCAA quarterfinal loss against Johns Hopkins, must replace most of its offensive weapons next season. Kevin Rice, Randy Staats and Nicky Galasso are all out of eligibility.
