The Syracuse Orange women's hockey team is representing itself well this past month. After two players signed to play professionally overseas in Italy, freshman Allie Munroe, who is from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, has been invited to attend the Canadian National Women's Program strength and conditioning camp.
The camp will take place May 4-8 in Hamilton, Ontario. The event has invited 97 athletes to come train. Of those athletes 50 will compete to be on Canada's U-18 Team, and 47, including Munroe, will get a shot at making Canada's National Developmental Team.
If Munroe makes the team she will compete in a three game series against the United States this summer in Calgary, as well as at the 2017 Nationals Cup.
