Last season, Syracuse Orange basketball guard Tyus Battle just missed All-ACC first team by nine votes. The then-sophomore still earned second team honors in the conference and finished the year with an average of 19.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 steals per game while leading the nation in minutes played.
But Battle will have the chance to be among the nation’s leaders in another category as he’ll likely compete for All-American honors this season and could very well be in the conversation for the National Player of the Year race as Syracuse returns to national relevancy.
