Syracuse legend Floyd Little died on Jan. 1 after a battle with cancer, according to his son. The Hall of Fame running back donned the No. 44 jersey during the 1960’s. He was diagnosed with cancer in May, and entered hospice care in late November. He died at age 78.
The three-time All-American followed in the footsteps of Syracuse running backs Jim Brown and Ernie Davis — all three’s accomplishments are honored through bronze statues outside of SU’s practice facility.
