Syracuse, N.Y. — A defensive Syracuse football player took home all-conference honors for the second week in a row on Monday.
After sophomore safety Daivon Ellison was named co-ACC defensive back to the week last Monday, junior linebacker Zaire Franklin was credited with the conference's top performance at his position in Week 4.
Franklin, SU's middle linebacker, racked up a career-high 14 tackles, including a season-best 2.5 for loss, and made the stop of the game in Syracuse's 31-24 win over Connecticut. He stood up Huskies quarterback Bryant Shirreffs on a fourth down, goal-line leap that would have tied the game midway through the fourth quarter.
