Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse football players Jaquwan Nelson and Devon Clarke have been suspended from all team activities by head coach Dino Babers due to a violation of team rules, SU Athletics told Syracuse.com in a statement Monday morning.
Nelson, a redshirt freshman defensive end, and Clarke, a redshirt freshman safety, were recently arrested and charged with burglary for an incident on South Campus reported on Dec. 26.
Nelson, 19, was charged Thursday with second-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny. Clarke, 19, was charged Friday with second-degree burglary and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
