Syracuse football's Dino Babers shares AP ACC Coach of the Year honor

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse football coach Dino Babers shared the Associated Press ACC Coach of the Year honor with Clemson coach Dabo Swinney, it was announced Tuesday.

Babers guided SU to a 9-3 season, its highest win total in 17 years, and a berth in the Camping World Bowl against West Virginia.

Swinney has Clemson (13-0, 8-0 ACC) in the College Football Playoff for the fourth-straight season as the conference champion.

In addition to Babers' honor, six Syracuse football players were voted to the AP's all-ACC team.

Kicker Andre Szmyt, punter Sterling Hofrichter and safety Andre Cisco were first-team choices.
