Syracuse, N.Y. -- Dino Babers kicked off game week with a clear message about his expectations for the season opener at Western Michigan.
He never referenced last year's home loss to Middle Tennessee State or former coach Scott Shafer.
But there's no doubt he's curious to see if his team can avoid the same pitfalls last year's group fell into going against a former coach.
"This is a business trip," Babers said Monday. "We need to go there, and we need to have that type of mindframe."
Western Michigan is coached by former offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Tim Lester.
