Syracuse Orange defensive back Corey Winfield was released from Upstate University Hospital Monday, and teammate Chauncey Scissum has improved and is in fair condition, according to Syracuse.com's Stephen Bailey.
Winfield's uncle, Neal Richardson, informed Bailey of his nephew's discharge from the hospital in a Facebook message.
"He is at home recovering and trying to get his full focus back on his studies so he can finish the semester off strong," Richardson said.
Winfield and Scissum were allegedly stabbed by former teammate Naesean Howard at a barbecue outside a South Campus residence Saturday evening.
