Our football guru puts his poetry skills to the test in previewing Syracuse football at home versus Clemson.
More poetry preview fun as Week 7 approaches for Syracuse football, and it’s that time in the season
Where most think this is an automatic loss and top-five Clemson is the reason
I never count my team out and we’ve played them fairly well since Babers took over
What once was a worrisome game has shown the Orange are no longer pushovers
This is a different season and different team so it’s hard to know what’s in store
But I’m holding out hope that it ends with Syracuse football winning no matter the score
Hopefully playing at home will give Syracuse a huge advantage
Playing on a Friday night in October…the 15th to be pedantic
I’ll never take Clemson lightly with Dabo there even without Etienne and Lawrence
They’re loaded with top recruits every year and will be ready to play our Orange
They’re ranked third in the preseason polls behind Oklahoma and of course Alabama
And will be out to prove they deserve to be playing for the championship in Indiana
Can the Orange play spoilers and knock them out of contention
And live out the #WhyNotCuse theory many of us have mentioned
If both teams have a great record when this game finally arrives
ESPN might get some good ratings…I wouldn’t be too surprised
I think it’s cool to be on prime time TV for all the country to see
But I still prefer TK99 with Matt Park, Brian Higgins and Adam Terry
Can Mikel Jones and our linebackers contain Clemson running back Will Shipley
And can the secondary and D line put pressure on quarterback DJ Uiagalelei
Coach Dino Babers said he’d like to see one of the running backs surpass one thousand yards
Or will we see Clemson’s Justin Foster and a loaded line knock them down like a house of cards
As I said before and I’ll say again that while I respect the Clemson Tigers program
Do I expect this to be a guaranteed win by either team?
