Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse football, fresh off earning its first national ranking since 2001, opened as a betting favorite ahead of Saturday's game at Wake Forest.
The No. 22 Orange (6-2, 3-2 ACC) was installed as a 4.5-point favorite against the Demon Deacons, according to VegasInsider.com. The game is scheduled for noon Saturday at BB&T Field in Winston-Salem, N.C., and will be televised on the ACC's Regional Sports Network (YES Network in Syracuse).
Syracuse became bowl eligible on Saturday night with a 51-41 victory against then-No. 22 North Carolina State. Senior quarterback Eric Dungey recorded his third 400-yard passing game, finishing with four total touchdowns in the win.
