Syracuse, N.Y. — The hottest topic in the Syracuse football community since the Orange finished a forgettable 3-9 campaign three-plus months ago has been the recruitment of SouthLake Christian (Huntersville, N.C.) Academy four-star running back Robert Washington.
The 5-foot-11, 215-pound Washington has more than 40 scholarship offers, including ones from Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State and a host of other national powers, but he has long thought highly of Syracuse.
Over the last two months, he's announced a top-six list of schools that includes Syracuse, along with TCU, North Carolina, Alabama, Florida and Michigan.
On April 25, he's expected to announce his verbal commitment.
