Two years ago, a Scott Shafer-led Syracuse football squad averaged just over 32,100 fans over seven home games.
While 32 thousand people may seem like a lot, it just so happened to be the lowest attendance average Syracuse football posted in the Carrier Domes’ 37 years of existence.
Last season the Orange saw just over 700 more fans per contest in year one of the Dino Babers era, good for the second lowest average the Dome has ever seen.
Going into Saturday’s tilt, the Orange averaged under 30,000 fans over their first two games against Central Connecticut State and Middle Tennessee State.
