Sterling Hofrichter is on the precipice of college football immortality.
The former Syracuse football punter will find out on Thursday evening whether or not he’ll become the first punter in program history to walk away with the Ray Guy Award.
That honor is bestowed annually to the nation’s best punter.
Hofrichter is one of three finalists (Dane Roy out of Houston and Max Duffy out of Kentucky being the others) that’ll be waiting anxiously in Atlanta.
FanSided’s Michael Collins spoke to Sterling this week to find out who inspires him on the football field:
“I never really was a big guy that wore jerseys but when I started kicking I looked up to Rob Bironas.
