Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse football will hold its sixth annual Lift for Life fundraising event on July 20, SU Athletics announced on Monday.
Fans are invited to watch Orange players compete in on-field drills at Manley Field House starting at 6 p.m.
Uplifting Athletes, a national organization composed of college football player-led groups, has an initiative to raise money to fight rare diseases. SU joined Uplifting Athletes in 2013 in support of former punter Rob Long, who overcame Anaplastic astrocytoma, a rare form of brain cancer.
After raising more than $11,000 last year, Syracuse players will be split into nine teams this year and compete in a variety of head-to-head physical challenges.
