Candidly former Syracuse football defensive lineman Chris Slayton had a mundane game when you look at the box score of the East-West Shrine Game. But to be honest with you, if that’s how you have evaluated Slayton’s career with the Orange, then you probably wouldn’t be very impressed.
For example, in his four year career he only tallied 7.5 sacks.
On top of the lack of statistical production, it probably hurt Slayton that his running mate, Syracuse wideout Jamal Custis had such an explosive game himself. In a peaches to apples comparison, Custis had the better day, but that’s not how prospects are evaluated.
