Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse football safety Devon Clarke is ineligible to play this semester, SU Athletics told The Post-Standard/Syracuse.com on Tuesday.
"Given University policy and federal student privacy laws, we are not able to provide further details," SU assistant director of athletic communications Mike Morrison said in an e-mail.
Clarke, a redshirt freshman, was reinstated from suspension by SU head coach Dino Babers in July. He and defensive end Jaquwan Nelson were suspended in February following their arrests in relation to a South Campus burglary. Clarke was charged with second-degree burglary and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and his case was waived to grand jury.
