Syracuse football safety Andre Cisco 'not your average freshman'; will he start?

Syracuse, N.Y. -- With Syracuse football shifting its base defense to a 4-2-5 this season, that means the Orange secondary will start one player without considerable playing experience.

True freshman Andre Cisco took on that role this spring, perhaps out of necessity, but after impressing the veterans with his work ethic this summer, he appears to be the lead candidate to win the free safety job.

"He used to hit me up every (day) at 6 a.m. for work," redshirt senior nickelback Antwan Cordy said. "We used to do hills together, field work, we'd study together watching film.
