The Syracuse Orange football coaching staff has been busy on the recruiting trail since the quiet period ended earlier this month. On Wednesday, they heard some good news there — in the form of a commitment from preferred walk-on Zack Magdis.
Magdis, a tight end/linebacker from Worcester Academy in Massachusetts stands at 6-foot-2 and 226 pounds. According to the story from Syracuse.com, SU defensive coordinator Brian Ward extended a preferred walk-on offer to Magdis on Tuesday night, along with one for his teammate, defensive tackle/fullback Kevon Darton. We’re pretty familiar with the DT/FB role at this point given Chris Elmore’s success the last two years, obviously.
