Syracuse, N.Y. — When Will Harper flew into LaGuardia Airport in New York City late Wednesday afternoon, verbally committing to Syracuse wasn't even a consideration.
But by the time he took his return trip to Georgia early Friday evening, the Sandy Creek (Tyrone, Ga.) High School junior was firmly pledged to SU's Class of 2016.
"I was so impressed with everything that I kind of felt like I had to," Harper said in a phone interview late Friday night.
The 6-foot, 180-pound Harper is being recruited to play outside linebacker and nickelback, or the "star" role in Syracuse's "Okie" formation, which features three down linemen and five defensive backs.
