Syracuse, N.Y. — Heading into spring practice with only two returning scholarship defensive ends, Syracuse is turning its attention to the junior college ranks.
Justin Stewart, a redshirt sophomore at Golden West (Huntington Beach, Calif.) College, said the Orange coaching staff has been in contact with him and will be closely monitoring his academic situation this semester.
If SU does offer, Stewart, who said he has been offered by Iowa State, New Mexico, Indiana State and Arkansas State, intends to sign with the Orange.
"For a few reasons," Stewart said via Twitter direct message, "they're in need of my position and help right away, they play in the ACC, which is a dream to me, and their conference is always producing top defensive ends.
