Syracuse, N.Y. -- The minute Cooper Dawson stepped foot on the Syracuse University campus, he loved it.
Sophomore tight end Aaron Hackett hosted the Hanahan (S.C) High School defensive lineman on his official visit this weekend, introducing him to teammates and other Syracuse University athletes. They caught the first half of the Syracuse-Georgetown basketball game -- but left before Tyus Battle's game-winner.
Dawson was one of several Class of 2019 football recruits visiting campus this weekend ahead of the early signing period, which runs Dec. 19-21.
The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Dawson, a three-star prospect ranked among the best in South Carolina, is keeping his recruitment close to the vest.
