After adding Canadian safety Ben LaBrosse on Saturday, the Syracuse Orange football program received another commitment on Sunday:
Steven Mahar is a three-star tight end from Rochester, N.Y. (Aquinas Institute) who is already 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds. Mahar immediately becomes the Orange’s top-ranked player on 247Sports’ composite board. He’s the first New Yorker in this class, and arguably the fist tight end, depending on how you view Justin Barron — a two-way player who could play either tight end or wide receiver on offense. The addition of Mahar would seemingly solve that question, and push him out wide on offense, anyway.
