Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse football picked up a verbal commitment on its final camp day of the summer.
North Shore (Tex.) 2019 safety Dorian Hewett, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound prospect from Houston, attended the camp and committed afterward. He announced his decision on Twitter.

Hewett is the ninth player to commit to the Orange's 2019 recruiting class. He can sign a binding letter of intent in December.
Syracuse is grabbing more prospects from Texas under Dino Babers than perhaps at any point in its history. The head coach has ties to the Lone Star state from his time coaching at Baylor and Texas A&M, and the hiring of quarterbacks coach Kirk Martin, a former high school coach in Texas, adds to the staff's reach.
