Syracuse, N.Y. -- Class of 2018 wide receiver Andrew Licciardi committed to Syracuse football as a preferred walk-on on Tuesday.
The East Greenwich (R.I.) High School standout announced his decision on Twitter. EG head coach John George clarified his player's scholarship status.
"He's a great receiver," George said. "He's graduating as the school's all-time leader in receptions, yardage and touchdowns. I think he's broken every receiving record we have."

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound Licciardi is unrated by the major recruiting services, but also had opportunities to play at Sacred Heart, Rhode Island and Fordham, among other lower-level schools.
