Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse football coach Dino Babers turned the page toward the 2018 season with an unvarnished statement that will sure to build up a new set of expectations for his third season.

"I think this is the beginning," Babers said. "I really believe that the 2018 season is going to be something that we're going to be talking about here for a long, long time."

It mirrors what Babers said at his introductory press conference nearly two years ago, and it sets up an expectation that back-to-back 4-8 seasons will be followed up with improved results.
