Syracuse, N.Y. — Former Syracuse football quarterback Terrel Hunt's appeal to the NCAA for a sixth season of eligibility was denied, ending his college career, the university confirmed Monday afternoon.
The NCAA previously denied his formal petition for a sixth year this fall. Dissatisfied with the ruling, he made a plea to the NCAA to reconsider its decision, though it seemed extremely unlikely it would rule in his favor.
Hunt, a fifth-year senior in 2015, tore his Achilles tendon in the first quarter of Syracuse's season opener against Rhode Island. It was the second-straight year an injury shortened his season.
