Kalamazoo, Mich. -- Syracuse football redshirt freshman quarterback Tommy DeVito didn't need to wait more than half of Week 1 before making his college debut.
After senior Eric Dungey led the Orange to a 34-7 lead at Western Michigan, DeVito came on with 3:11 left in the second quarter.
Head coach Dino Babers' most highly touted recruit to date, DeVito was an Elite 11 finalist and Under Armour All-American two years ago before redshirting last fall. He split first-team reps with Dungey throughout preseason camp and has enjoyed learning from the three-year starter.
"It's awesome to be able to sit behind him and watch him perform," DeVito said during camp.
