Syracuse, N.Y. -- Sterling Hofrichter is preparing to take on a set of responsibilities not held by a Syracuse football player since the turn of the millennium.
The redshirt junior is in line to be the Orange's primary punter -- a role he's thrived in each of the last two years -- as well as its primary placekicker.
This isn't all new to Hofrichter, who handled all kicking responsibilities for Armwood (Seffner, Fla.) High School and practiced field goals last year, but it's still a significant adjustment.
"It's a lot different in college," Hofrichter said after practice on Thursday.
